DJ Action Slacks: Portland, OR; I am a hopeless pop culture nerd.- Not present pop culture, although I dabble a little in that too just to keep in touch with “the kids”. I am endlessly fascinated with 20th century pop culture, particularly that of the 1920s – 1980s. I can pontificate on this subject for hours on end. Nothing can stop me. Not the glazed over eyes of my friends nor an empty room. Here are some basics about me. I hail from the MIGHTY Mid-West and I’m proud of it. I migrated to the Pacific Northwest in 1994 where I collided and then collaborated with the punk rock DIY scene of Olympia. It was there in 1996 that I began producing and hosting a weekly radio program. During its 9-year run, “Soul Kitchen” stayed dedicated to the mission of fostering a greater appreciation of soul music and the pioneering artists who made the music.
